I've had a lot of help from people on this board in the past and learnt some invaluable information, now I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction in finding a missing ancestor. See below |

My gg grandmother, her husband and their 6 month old son died in 1897. This left their 3 daughters and 1 son orphaned. On the 1901 census 2 of the girls are living with an aunt and uncle, the other girl is living as an 'adopted daughter' with another family. I can't find their son Michael, who would have been 8 years old. I tried a search using his family name, nothing. I tried just putting in the name Michael, still no matches. Is there anywhere else I can look? Thanks Clare |

This isn't an exact science and there are endless reasons why Michael might not be on the census. You don't even know if he was still in this country. Maybe you should try at the other end of the timescale and see if you can find his marriage or death record. Are you prepared to share his surname with us? |

His name was Michael Kelly, I started off on a wild goose chase for him as he was known in the family as Uncle Jack. I know that he married Henrietta ? and they had three sons, but I would dearly love to know who took him in after his parents death. Thanks Clare |
