Please note that according to Ancestors August 2006, the Monthly Magazine issued by TNA, that the BMD records for 1864 to 1922 have NOT changed offices. For the last 2 years there have been 2 repositories for the Records for Southern Ireland. The first repository, which has been going for many years, is at the Public Search Room, Joyce House 8/11 Lombard Street Dublin 8 tel: 00353 1 671 1000. http(://)www(.)from(-)ireland(.)net(/)gene/civilregistration(.)htm The second repository is at GRO Convent Road Roscommon Tel: 00353 1 906 632900 You can google and send for your certificates from the addresses shown in either repository. Southern Ireland Records Office has now been relocated in Roscommon. (Moved from Dublin earlier on in this year.) www(.)groireland(.)ie/ You can apply for certificates in person or by post. Just print off the appropriate B M or D application form and fill in the details, including you credit/debit card info if applying by post. You cannot do it on line. Expect a wait of over 1 month before you hear anything back. Northern Ireland Records Office is in Belfast. www(.)groni(.)gov(.)uk/index.htm Don't forget to remove the brackets. Regards....Teresa |
