Ah Ha - thanks Merry, that explains everything! I guess it was just giving me what it had closest to the dates I had put in - will do as you suggest in future. kind regards

There's very little transcribed for post 1910.....generally you would have to look at the BMD images, quarter, by quarter.... I don't know why you are getting dates outside the range you are asking for though.........??? That hasn't happened to me :o) Merry

Can anyone tell me please when searching the partial birth images, when I type in for example Fred Blogs b. 1917, it only gives me Fred Blogs b. 1910, 1901, 1895 etc? I've tried it both ways, with +/- 5 yrs, 1 yr etc and it still does the same. If I try searching for Fred Blogs b. 1917 exact year it comes back with nothing? Sorry for being so dense but its v. frustrating.
