Have just gone into My Ancestry and it no longer exists!!!! Can only look at showbox items. in it's place is invitation to start a tree. Looked up a relative on the census and now there is no option to save to my ancestry, this has been replaced with save to a person on the tree!!! so hate this......used this as a reference all the time whilst I was on Ancestry.....In a bad modd now.....and throwing all my toys out of the pram.....right moan over, thought would share it so you all aware of 'new and improved service'!! lol I thought a shoebox was something you wrapped Christmas pressies in? If you are lazy like me, then you wouldn't have learned about all the ''new-fangled'' bits on Ancestry and so wouldn't miss them when they'd gone! Merry |

LOL Merry, It was such a good idea, I used to put all my families into it in ascending census order, you could just refer to them whilst completing your daily 'fix' on ancestry and now they have whipped it away from me......spent several minutes this morning turning the air blue!!! The shoebox remains, but I only put people in there that I am not sure about, why couldn't they take that away???!!! Oh dear oh dear I am sounding like a real misery this morning...not like me at all, best get out in the sun....... man arrived last week complete with fan Merry and I must say he has been damn indispensable, he is not much good at the family history so I am keeping him doing the manual jobs.....he only complains a little at night when I lock him up.....dont want him doing a runner in the night now do we?!!! No what you mean Fuzzy - discovered this yesterday there was another thread, I will nudge for you - but some kind lady called Gwynne told us where to find our existing People Looking for, go to PROFILES, select Research Interests it list People Looking for then click on the edit button and it brings up your existing list under My Ancestry, I think we have all to accept now that we will only have shoe box to put in in future - I agree with others and dont want to put tree on Ancestry for many reasons that I have picked up from here . Good luck hope you find your missing peops. Gill |

Gill, so frustrating eh? I have found all my census info on all my families, but as you say cannot add to them now, just have the showbox, what a pain Fuzzy |

Like Anne, am planning to save all stuff currently in My Ancestry, i.e. the ones I 'know' are mine onto my hardrive this weekend, did put thread up yesterday about can you do it in one go or do I have to save all of them individually? Am going to save all the census as piccies, but all the transcribed info. I think will have to print cos if ever you cancel your subs. they wont open when you try to look at them cos they instantly connect you to Ancestry so best try to keep 1 step ahead in case of any more changes like that - Just as well the Sun is supposed to go over weekend I can see we are all going to busy backing up stuff from ancestry!!!! LOL!!! Gill :)) |
