Thanks Merry i think i might be getting myself in a bit of a pickle. It's the stupid book i got from the library it has planted information in my head and is sending me crazy. Just realised it was written in 1989 so i don't think computers were about then as it talks about typwriting all the time. It states in there that if you can find out where your ancesters used to live which i know then you can write to all of the people in that area with the same surname informing them of all the information you have gathered and see if it reminds somebody of an old family member. I was just trying to see if i could bring some of my Whiteheads a little closer to the present date than what i have. Sorry if i have confused everyone, but i think i have just confused myself. Thanks Jen

Good......I hope she can understand why you want to know.....Once you have her on your side things will be easier! I don't know the answer to your Q. The electoral roll will probably only show men over 21 years. Merry
