Following a recent tips thread on using the LDS IGI Records, I typed in my WILLIAM NETTLETON and wife MARY (Middlesex) in the father and mother search box, this threw up all their children. But on looking at each child's Batch number some of them dont match. Does this mean they are not related? I know there was another William and Mary in the same area. I also noticed the 1st born in 1797 and the last born in 1826 were physically impossible for the mother. I also know that one of the children JOHN GEORGE is definitely mine. Thanks Ann

I think different batch numbers would be different churches.in any case, I tried to follow what you did on the IGI and Middlesex doesn't seem to be an option on the county list. If you know the church try going in via the Hugh Wallis batch numbers http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm Choose the county then the church. Click on the relevant year range for the christenings. a new search page opens, put in the surname and you will get just the christenings for that surname in that church Linda

Thanks Linda for that. What I actually wanted to know is when you do a parents search only typing in the parents names and London Greater as the county this throws up the all the children, in my case there are 11 children 5 of the children have the same Batch no. the others have different Batch nos. Does this mean that the 5 children are not related to the other six. Ann

I was wrong about the different churches. Each different batch number just covers a range of years. C037211 1813 - 1816 0933987 Film 6901249 Film C037211 1816 - 1824 0561145 Film NONE C037211 1824 - 1830 0561146 Film NONE C037211 1830 - 1837 0561147 Film NONE Sheet: 00 IF there were two couples in the area with the same name, your only way to seperate the children would be either to look for them on a census, or to look at the originalparish records in the local office, because it usually had the occupation of the father on and just hope they had different occupations Linda
