There's an Ireleth in Cumbria (then Lancashire) and it's part of Askam-in-Furness. Patricia |

Which census have you found him in? There is a Richard Croston in the 1901 census, born Croston, but it says Lancashire, not Ireland. UPDATE - is it the 1851 census that you are looking at, living High Street, Preston? If so I think the enumerator has put his 'ditto' after Croston, meaning ditto to Lancashire which is further up the page, although I agree it looks like it means Ireland. Kath. x |

I have a Richard Croston born in Croston in Ireland. I have googled this place and there appear to be a couple of places in Lancashire but can't find one in Ireland. perhaps it is a little tiny village. Has anyone heard of it? Regards Colette |
