Change of name for baptism?

My Great Great Grandmother was Sarah Ann Lymer and was born in Q1 of 1860. Although I don't yet have her birth certificate, I do have her marriage certificate which gives her father as John Lymer, a shoemaker and I have found the family on the census's living in Shelton, Stoke on Trent. Her mother is Elizabeth Poyser. I have checked the baptisms for Shelton 1860 and although I couldn't find Sarah Ann, I did find a baptism for Anna Lymer, parents John (a shoemaker) and Elizabeth, living in Shelton, baptised 28 April 1860. My question is this: could Sarah Ann and Anna be the same person? The parents, father's occupation and place of residence all match, there is no baptism for a Sarah Ann and it would be impossible for Elizabeth to have given birth to another child the same year. Any thoughts appreciated. Sam x |

It is very possible that it is the same person, alot of children were known by their second given names. Fuzzy x |

That's what I was hoping! There is no other baptism, I can't find any trace of another child called Anna and everything else matches. Thanks Sam x |

I looked for months for husband's Gt Grandmother Sarah's birth and marriage, as per censu certificate. When i eventually found her marriage, by tracing it via the husband, the certificate was signed as Sarah but the name was Elizabeth. She was born Elizabeth and always known as sarah! Ann Glos |
