Use the Firefox browser with the adblocker - I never see animations. Some people also say that genesreunited*com has fewer ads than genesreunited*co.uk.

Those animations are a real pain. Is there any way that we can get rid of them?

Susan depends on what system you are working. I am using Win2000. On that (will probably be similar on yours if Windows) press CNTL-ALT-DEL and a new window will appear. Select 'Task Manager', and another window will appear. Select the 'Processes' tab and you will get a list of all the programmes running on your computer. You will probably recognise the name of one as the browser you are using. The column headed CPU shows the percentage of time spent on each process, and also the memory being used. Normally your browser will be using about 1% except when you move or change the page. Higher useage while just watching is due to the adverts.

My computer seemed to be running very slow while on GR yesterday. Thought - have I got a nasty ? Checked and found my browser was using nearly all the processor time. Turned out to be one of the advertising animations - Sky Broadband. Several others are also very greedy. Have reported it to GR and they are asking their advertising people to look into it. Anyone else noticed the same problem or is it just my old computer?
