I ordered a will by post. Posted it on 29th May. Still haven't heard anything. I haven't yet checked to see if the cheque's been cashed.... that's on my list for tomorrow... Is 2 months usual? I'd thought it would be about 6 weeks................ Sarah :-)

You haven't said where you ordered it from. Did they give you a despatch date, or do they have any info regarding how long it takes? nell

Sorry Nell, I didn't know there was anywhere other than York Probate that I could have got it from ! Ann from Sussex found details of the will for me which she pm'ed to me. I just wrote a handwritten letter (printer's on the blink) including all the dates & info she'd found, asking for a copy of the will & including my email address ('if you need any further information....' etc etc) & a cheque for £5 to The Postal Searches & Copies Dept, York Probate Sub-Registry, Castle Chambers, Clifford Street, YORK YO1 9RG which is the address I found online - I couldn't download their application form (the link wasn't working) So I hope I gave enough info.....date & address of death, executors etc & the date the will was proved. I didn't get a despatch date because I didn't order online or by phone but people on here said about 6 weeks Sarah :-)

Sarah, I ordered a couple of wills back in May, and they arrived last week, I think it was just over 7 weeks, if that's any help. Carolyn
