webpage: http://www(.)cityoflondon.gov.uk/Corporation/wills/index.htm (remove brackets) London Signatures London Signatures is an exciting new service from London Metropolitan Archives, essential for family historians and anyone interested in the history of London and Londoners. You can search a FREE index of 10,000 wills from the Archdeaconry Court of Middlesex online. You can also buy a digital copy of the will direct from the web, for just 4GBP (around 6.75 US dollars). We will be adding wills from the Consistory Court of London, the Commissary Court of Surrey and the Archdeaconry Court of Surrey, marriage bonds and allegations, apprenticeship indentures and settlement certificates. To see a sample of what you can buy, click here to look at the London signatures FAQs. You should check this out before deciding to buy a will, because old handwriting may be difficult to read. There may be other questions that our FAQs can answer before you use the service. Please note that all the wills on London Signatures are Black & White copies to speed download times. We do not have colour copies available through this service. You should also note that we only include the back of the will if it includes significant information which is not included in the will. To receive your copy of a will you need to register as a site user (click here to register). This will allow you to log on and pay through a secure online facility. After paying, you will be sent an email with a link to a specific URL, where you will be able to download your chosen will. Click here to search the index and to buy a digital copy of one our wills. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nice and simple to use.....just not yet complete.......
