I'm thinking maybe they combined the wedding with a short seaside honeymoon? Though several of them moved to Yarmouth presumably because the work opportunities were better, a lot returned to Hardley to be buried. nell

My gt gt grandfather had two sisters, Mary and Sarah Gray who helpfully married men with unusual names - Daniel Rudrum and William Gillingwater. Mary and Sarah married within 3 months of eachother and only one other wedding separates their entries in the marriage register. They were both witnesses at eachother's weddings. They had large families - Sarah had 13! - and they had several offspring who married in Yarmouth area. Several of the brothers/sisters and cousins with their partners witnessed eachothers weddings and one of Mary's sons married one of Sarah's daughters. nell

Was there a special awayday deal on these? I have several couples getting married in Yarmouth reg district although they lived in East Norfolk near the marshes.
