What you need to do then is to trawl through the Bmd index for those years under mothers maiden name as surname + same as mothers maiden name and see what you find. If you can find any, then perhaps electoral roles etc. If you like, I could help you search - you could pm me the details if you wish, OR - if you want to do it yourself - Ancestry Bmd is free to use. no the mother was not married at the time, and i definitely know her maiden name! the child was probably born between 1952 and 1954, we are not sure of the exact date of birth and it is likely that it was born in the hampshire area. It was adopted at the age of 2 (or so i'm told) thanks for your help! |

depends when , to a certain extent , and if you know where this child may have been born. (i assume before you) You know the mothers name - was she married at the time, in which case knowing her maiden name will help too Given for adoption or remained with his /her father? |

hi evryone! I have been led to believe that I have a half brother or half sister out in the world somewhere but have no information about this except a christening photo found hidden behind another picture of my own wedding. We can't determine the gender of the child from the photo but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I could find any information at all. I do know the name of the birth mother but not the father if any one has any ideas, please let me know thanks! jackie |
