I have some family apparently moved from UK to NZ, tho I am not sure when, probably after the father died in 1896 in Gloucester UK. .. The family surname is Heaven. .. If someone in NZ could show me what shipping list (or where to go) or census or anything else, I'd appreciate it. I'm in Australia and know nothing about NZ family history. Jood |

Michelle - the family consists of Mother Sarah Jane Heaven born abt 1861, died 1944 her children Victor John Heaven born abt 1888 died 1952 George James Heaven born 1889 died 1974 Frances William Heaven born abt 1890 died 1969 Mary Elizabeth Heaven born abt 1892 died 1958 Bessie Heaven born abt 1893 died 1967 Alice Heaven born abt 1896 died 1975 I understand they went to NZ from Gloucester, tho Victor John may have stayed behind. They were all still in Gloucester at the time of the 1901 census. Sorry I didnt get back to you right away. Many thanks Judy |

Hi Judy These might be of some help to you - I have got two Alice's on the index cd both marrying in 1915 One is just Alice marrying to Wilson (I will have to go through the groom/bride surnames to find the matching first name if you want it) And the second is Alice Amy marrying to Nolan Nothing for Bessie Heaven Mary Elizabeth marrying in 1912 to Wood Francis William marrying 1913 to Cunningham Nothing for Victor John And this cemerty record - Ilmo Margaret b w of Reg Hills and dearly loved dau of G J & B Heaven at Hamilton 3/11/42 aged 22 Michelle. |

Thanks Michelle, I'll have a look at it in the morning, it does sound promising. Did it say where in NZ? and would there be a shipping list they could be on - sometime after 1901 ? Judy |

There is no place name give for the marriages The cemetry recod is from Karori Cemetry (Wellington way I think) I had a look on the NZ search engine and could not find any ships list to match these names (I did find a Heaven family from Gloucester around 1874 or something on one passenger list) , Cyndislist*com might be able to point you in the right direction Michelle |

Jood, I've started a Passenger Lists thread on the Record Office board, and there are a few NZ lists on it. |
