Morning all I recently received the death certificate for my grandfather on which the informant has given the wrong place of birth. Is there any way of amending this - if so who needs to be informed, the office where the event was registered or the GRO? Thanks Carole |

I believe it is possible as we are in negotiations on the fact that the wrong husband's details are shown on my grandmother's death certificate. |

Carole You will of course need his birth certificate to do this. You can either do this at the GRO, or you could try doing it through YOUR nearest Register Office - I think you can swear an affidavit which will be forwarded to the GRO. OC |
