Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Paul

Was she born in London, as suggested by the 1851 census? The trouble is, if she died between the censuses you have no ages in the death indexes to help you and if she married then this doesn't seem to have happened in Monmouthshire. As a servant she might have ended up anywhere and with no specific birthplace to guide you on the following densus you may be stuck :o(( Merry

Hi All Sorry for the delay but I have had visitors this evening so have had to step away for a few hours. Elizabeth was born c1826 in Middlesex, London and her birth registered in the Parish of St. Annes, Soho where her parents George Newberry and Ann Atwell were married c1824. Her parents moved to Chepstow where the family grew bigger. Elizabeth took up service as a servant (Ref 1841/1851 cesus). Her brothers moved to Cardiff as Shiprights where they married and remained. Elizabeth's sister Ann married c1854 in Chepstow and Elizabeth was a witness. Although she was born in London I do not believe that she ever returned considering all her family remained in the Cardiff and the Chepstow area. Many thanks Paul

Hi Richard, Many many thanks for your time and effort. I thought that I was pretty good at this but as this shows, I still have a lot to learn. I spent most of yesterday trying to track her down. Her brothers did come to Cardiff where they married and stayed and I notice that Elizabeth went to Gloucester. I made the assumption that it was Elizabeth the mother and so did not follow that through. Many, many thanks once again for taking the time and effort in sorting out my brick wall. It is much appreciated. Once again it shows how easily you can lose site of who you are tracing. By the way George is the one brother who did not follow the others to Cardiff and whom I had not started looking for. Thanks to you I do not have to because there he is. Bye Paul
