As a Newbie to this I wondered if anyone could recommend any usefull sites free or otherwise. Also any other usefull tools thanks

hiya, it depends what sort of info you require, for Births marriages and death records, 1837-2004, your best bet is Ancestry*co*uk, you can search all index for FREE. http://www*ancestry*co*uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd*aspx replace * with dots if it is before registration begins, then you need a site like 'Hugh wallis' just google him, gives alot of parish records that you can search by county and parish Hope this helps Julie
