Are you sure that Mary born 1820 is his wife? He is living with Frances who is a similar age to him. Mary is living with husband Isaac. (I can't see another Mary born 1820 living with servants), or am I missing something? Could Isaac be the son of Robert and Frances? Kath. x

I must be going blind - have just looked at the 1851 census and can find Robert with wife Francis but no Mary. Did you mean they were all living together or listed in separate homes? Sorry, bit confused... Oh, ok, have just found Mary Nickolson born 1820 Goulsby, wife of Isaac - with dau in law Mary J Broomfield and Harriet Nickolson dau...but where are the servants you mention? Am I looking at the wrong image?

Susan - we are all a tad confused over this. Could you check the actual image again please because there is only Robert and Francis listed in that household - no Mary Nickolson as far as we can see living with them. Mary Nickolson b1820 is on another page, listed as wife of Isaac (that's the son of Robert and Francis, I presume). It might help if you gave us the census page refs that you are referring to so that we can see what you are looking at. Maybe we are looking at the wrong info? Doubt it, but something doesn't add up here. Is it definitely the 1851 you are looking at?
