This is driving me mad LOL, I am trying to find Ernest and Clara STILL(my great grand parents) on the 1901 census. Ernest Still was born 04 Dec 1881 in Lewisham, Kent and Died 06 Nov 1949 in Lewisham, Kent. Ernest married on 07 Jul 1900 to Clara Amelia Abbott born 03 Jul 1880 in Greenwich, West Kent and died 05 Jul 1959 in Lewisham. I have found both sets on parents on the 1901 census and they are not with them. Can anyone find them please? Best wishes

If Ernest STILL married Clara ABBOTT then shouldn't we be searching for Ernest & Clara STILL??

They're transcribed as STIFF rg13/548/10/11 Boarding at 34 Craythorne St, Lewisham in a family of Dutton's Ernest married 20 bricklayer Clara A wife 20 Baby (a male) 2 days Not sure I'd like to have been called Baby Stiff (though baby Still ain't much better)!!

The name on the image does look like STIFF not Still. And both ancestry and the government 1901 website have transcribed them as stiff. However, it's obviously your people.

ROFL Jools, you nearly made me choke! Going to see if I can find my Still / Stiff Baby and give him a name! Def them as Ernest was a Bricklayer in all the info I have on him. Thanks again.

Well, I can't find any male children in the first or second quater of 1901 called Still born in Lewisham. I have found a girl, so maybe it is her and the census recorder was having a really bad day! Thanks again for your help Best wishes
