I haven't used 1841 Scotland records before but having found my GGgrandmothers brother living in Brechin, Angus on there I find I am unable to view the image.......... I find I am able to View Record and other members of household..........I can view images on all the other censuses but this one............................................................................ If it is not possible to view the image on Ancestry could some kind person with Scotlands people look this ref up for me and post the other details that may be there or give me a site where I can view it myself............ David Archibald age 8 , Witch Den Burn, Brechin, Angus.......... SCT1841/275/ED8 p13........ no folio no given on record........ Thanks.... Kat

You will have to go to Scotland's People site to view images (pay per view 6 pounds for 30 credits and 5 credits per cert). GRO Scotland will not allow images on any other sites but can not stop transcriptions on sites such as Ancestry. Hope this helps Barbara

Thank you Barbara for the info, I must have got the image for his sister Ann last year from SKS with Scotland Peeps last year. Norah. Thanks so much. I have been unable to find David and Anns parents. Having now found David with another family as I did with his sister it looks as if they must have died and the children split up, How sad. Really grateful for finding that for me. Kat :)

Barbara, I just remembered I got my copy from freecen, it breaks down the page into 'family' units which Ancestry doesn't. Freecen is not complete but had the brother and sister I was looking for. Kat

Thanks Ann for the info, I did wonder whether it was me cos I couldn't find a view image button anywhere, not used to looking up any Scottish ones til now. Regards Kat
