At our Crematoriam/Cemetary we have about 8 books all turned to the days date under glass. Luckily there is also a machine is there with a large screen and you can browse all the images for any year, month, date. Can't remember how far it goes back though. I found a friends Great Grandmother by doing this. Don't know how common these machines are. This is at the very large Falconwood Crematoriam at Eltham, London Linda |

I believe you pay to have someone's name entered and the entry is usually put on a date page, like May 15th, according to date of the cremation. The page is turned daily to display entries for the current date, by the staff, as a kind of memorial. Works like a birthday book. I believe these books are usually in a glass case and you would not be able to 'browse' through it. Jay |

Thanks for helping. Do you think that the Crematorium would give the information out as to who paid to have the entry made? |

In Leicester the book has only the entries in it that someone has paid to have put there, they do not go there automatically. Not sure about anywhere else. JoJo |

Can anybody tell me anything about these books. Are they completed by the Crematorium as evidence of the person being creamted or is it an open book where family and friends can leave messages. Do you need to make appointments to view the books? Thanks |
