Where was Albert Edward Cole supposed to come from? (as there are LOADS of births for that name, but you say you couldn't find one in the right year, I'm guessing you know where he was supposed to have been born!) And his father's name and occupation? Merry

Eke is an unusual name and I have some in my tree, hailing from Dereham in Norfolk.

Thanks for that MMM, The odd thing about that marriage is that Mabel married Albert Edward Cole in 1921! I've not been able to link him in to the Coles that William was boarding with in 1881, but there must be some link. My father in law thought that Albert Edward was born 1902, but the only birth I was able to find was 1899. I can't then find him in the 1901 though. Mark

Think he must be one of those who keeps forgetting his name!! Looking at the 1891 census, I would have thought this would be Mabel's parents marriage, but William has the alternative middle name!!!
