Cannot see Amy before 1891. Maybe Elsmore isn't the name she was born with, or perhaps she was mistranscribed. |

This is the only Amy Elsmore I can find b. 1874 in 1891 though her birthplace doesn't match 1901: Amy Elsmore abt 1874 Kennington, London, Servant Chelsea London |

When you say you;ve looked on Ancestry, do you mean you have looked at the searchable Freebmd stuff, where you put in a name and it brings up all the results - or have you gone through 1891-1901 checking each quarter for each year on the GRO index images? If you haven't done that, then that could be the next step. Also, as he was in the army, he may have married wherever he was serving - though if he was at the Tower of London he should be on the census. Have you looked for Amy in 1891 to see where she was living? Where was Beatrice born? nell |

Can anyone help I'm trying to find a marriage for George Sedgwick (1862 - Wednesbury) and Amy Elsmore (1874 - Birmingham). I know George is not married on the 1891 census as he is serving as a soldier in the Warwickshire Regiment in the Tower of London. By 1901 census he is married to Amy and they have a daughter called Beatrice born 1894. From Beatrice's birth certificate her mothers name is given as Amy Elsmore. Can anyone help, I've looked on Ancestry. Thanks Pam |
