Thanks for your kind offer. Can I have the details please for Mary Driscoll b c1847 - Poplar or Limehouse In one census she is down as having been born in Poplar, in another census as having been born in Limehouse. Father´s name on her marriage certificate is Michael, but the only Mary Driscoll I can find on the census is the daughter of William and Ellen.. |

Hi Jeanne Thanks for your reply. I think in that case I have enough requests that you can cancel everyone else and still keep busy for a month! LOL! Don't mean that everyone!! I am stuck on these darned Edwards and there are so many of them. Would you kindly look for the marriage of Jane Edwards b.c1853 St Lukes, I don't have a date so am going on about 18 years and up to getting married. So about 1871? Catherine Edwards b. c 1849 St. Lukes same thing, about 1867 and up? Don't want to kill the goose so will just give you those. (Watch for me changing names later and adding the rest LOL!) Thanks so much Jeanne. |

Thank you for your most generous offer. Can you tell me if people had St. Luke as their place of birth would it necessarily be the one in Milwall? I have often wondered if there were more St Lukes than just one. Thanks for a reply whenever you get a minute. Maggie |

Hoping this site stays up long enought to post this reply, been trying since this morning - must be Big Brother at work watching me !!! The parishes I have cost me £50 - and because almost all my family come from these areas, it was money well spent. I will endeavour to get responses to you by this evening. Rgds, Jeanne |

thanks Heather, I have used that site, but am waiting for the next batch of St. George's in the East, they were only up to 1821'ish and I want around 1825 and onwards for one lot - it is £2.95 per look up I beleive, but during the world cup they had a reduction which was handy - didn't know they sold the CD's only did a look up will check back and have another look - thanks for tip. Hi Jeanne, Thanks for your kind offer. Looking for Eleanor Tapp, born 1831/32, in either Poplar or Stepney. Also her sister Jessie Tapp, born 1838 (Poplar or Stepney). It's more than likely they will be in the next lot to be transcribed by Docklands, but would appreciate it if you could look for me. Thanks Jeanne, Kaye. |

Gill, if you go to the Dockland Ancestors site - run by James Legon you can enter a name and search the parishes. Enter just a surname as then you bring the lot up! www.parishregister*com/ Its £2.95 for the search. I believe James offers a virtually by return result if you ask for a search over the entire lot of parishes they have transcribed. Not sure how much that is - but it will tell you on the site. They have added quite a few more churches now and some in the south of the river docklands areas like Rotherhithe and Bermondsey. The transcribers are working constantly to add info not available elsewhere - they are only doing baptisms at mo, Ill be pleased when they add marriages and deaths! You can also buy the cds on the site. |

Hi Jeanne, can I ask how/where and how much, because many of my family seemed to be in this area, I have 3 different surnames I am looking at and could keep you busy for days so rather than take the mick thought I'd ask if possible to get hold of these for my own use?? If not I may do a list and ask if you can help. thanks Gill |
