My Genesreunited membership is due for renewal today. I have “automatic renewal” selected and have received an email telling me I don’t have to “do anything”. My home page now has a red message at the top telling me my membership is about to expire “click here to renew”. I’d do that, but I don’t want to end up paying twice if they’re going to take the payment automatically. Please can anyone tell me if this is usual? Thanks Heather 19.08.06 I've just received my credit card bill and GR have taken £9.95 instead of £7.50. I'm hopping mad nowhere did it say it would cost extra, it's not the amount of money but the principle. I've emailed them and had a completely unacceptable reply (which I'll copy here or send to anyone if they're interested). I'm about to contact my card issuer and Trading Standards. Please watch out if your automatic renewal doesn't go through. Heather -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Thanks Frances Maybe I'll do that, it's telling me £7.50, and I believe it's more than that if you don't automatically renew. I don't want to pass the renewal date! Heather |

Can I ask why there are two renewal prices? Mine is telling £9.95p. |

Patricia do you have your renewal set to automatic? If you renew and it costs more than £7.50 write to GR who have been giving refunds for over payments |

Heather, Just email Genes they will sort it out I had it set for them to take money out but for some reason they could not take it out it told me that I was to pay the £9 plus price, but in the end only the £7 plus was taken out. Sue |

Thank you all for your replies. I had to go out yesterday and couldn't get back to the thread. In the end I clicked on 'Renew' . It 's seems to be ok and only taken the money once. I think they may have had trouble with the card, although it's the same one as last year. Thanks again Heather |
