I have someone in my tree who is supposed to have deserted from the army after the war, just packed his bag and went home with his new wife who he married whilst still in the army in 1919, fought in france, was gassed and sent home to hospital in suffolk, any ideas of tracing his records, just to find out if the story is true. I shall probably meet pheonix at the archives in august, but wondered if there was an online way through this? Rod
