Hi, If a British Citizen (sometime between 1903 - 1930) moved to the UK to live, would there have been any official record of arrival in the UK. Did you have to register anywhere? Many thanks Paul |

Not if you are British! If you have British citizenship then you can live anywhere in UK I guess. There might be records of people's arrivals in ships' passengers' lists. Or you can check electoral registers if you have an address to see when s/he started living there. nell |

Hi Helen, I've tried the Electoral Lists and found who I was looking for from 1930, the date given on the marriage certificate but cannot find them prior to that year. For some strange reason our Central Library Electroral Records for earlier years are very patchy with quite a few years missing. Many thanks Paul |
