Janet I cant see a birth for a Browne child whose mothers maiden name was Reyner between 1916-1918 (unless the name was entered Brown). Update I found a birth in March quarter 1917, I take it this is your mother? Do you know from family stories if her mother was alive when she married, it might help shorten the time span for her death. Georgina. |

Do you know her exact date of birth? There are 95 people named Edith Violet, born 1897 or 1898 who died after 1984, with any surname. You would be very lucky if she is one of them, but it's worth a look! Merry |

I suppose the chances are that she re-married (though do you know if she had further children????????) Otherwise, this death is close, but presumably not quite close enough (the post-1984 deaths are transcribed, so they are quick to search!) Name: Edith Violet Browne Birth Date: 20 Nov 1896 Death Registration Month/Year: Jan 1989 Age at death (estimated): 92 Registration District: Sefton North Inferred County: Merseyside Volume: 37 Page: 331 Merry |

Unfortunately, the GRO won't be able to help you :o(( You would need to search the Marriage and Death Indexes to find out what happened to her and this would have to be done Quarter by Quarter............... Merry |

inding deaths for a woman cna be very time consuming. My g/gm was born in 1855,her hubby died in 1901,about a week after the census (that took ages to find but a story for another day). She remarried in 1903,i trawled for her death from 1903 to 1950,thinking i'd missed it. She died in 1956!!It took some finding,as i couldn't ask anyone when she died i had to just keep going, but never expected to find her going so long into the 1950's. Glen |
