I ran a Spybot scan which showed a Backweb site which I then deleted but ever since have had a lot of problems PC very slow, and keep getting a message about change of registry, I have tried 2 different system restore points and neither worked any ideas what next thanks |

Oh Val, b****** puters eh? Mine seems to be sorted, fingers crossed and I still feel guilty about rollicking the young blokes in the shop and getting a freebie! Good luck with the system restore. Are there dates highlighted to go back to? Bit worrying that registry change thingy. Unless it just means you got shot of that program. |

glad you are up and running Heather, now its my turn.I did go to highlighted dates twice but each time it finished it said System restore not carried out but it doesnt say why. I am getting a bit despondant this week thinking of giving this all a miss and doing nothing all day.I was expecting some Certs today not one turned up so much for it being quicker, I was so looking forward to them. |

Try running Spybot while the PC is in SAFE MODE....after the scan, while still in SAFE MODE, using your PC's ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS feature in the CONTROL PANEL to manually uninstall (not delete) any spyware/adware programs.....I prefer, personally, AD-ADARE - PERSONAL EDITION over the free version of SPYBOT as SPYBOT tends to add it's own spyware to your PC. I would also download and install SPYWAREBLASTER - which works in 'real time' to protect your PC from having adware/spyware programs install themselves without your knowledge.....this is a free program. Having AD-AWARE (which you must manually run a scan once a week or so) and SPYWAREBLASTER should keep you pretty much protected. Any problems or questions feel free to give me a shout. Judy |
