My Gt.Gramdfather served with the M.P.F between 1868-1887. Unfortunately this is a period for which a lot of records were lost. His name was John Murhall . He did duty in the areas of St. James; Kensington and Westminster. He was at some time during his servce an official Band Master. Any info on Po,ice Bands during that peeriod would be of great interest to me.

Paul Barton: Many thanks for your help but we have already contacted these leads and do have P.C.John Murhall's personal details and service information from both Kew and the Museum but, unfortunately , they do not have any info on the POLICE BAND. As this 'played' and important part in his life we would love to have any information anyone might turn up on this group. JOHN MURHALL SERVED IN C.T.& B. DIVISION OF THE METROPOLITAN POLICE FORCE (16 YRS IN T. DIV. - KENSINGTON). Thanks for replying, Paul.
