Have you got a virus scanner installed, or a spyware removal tool? If so, run them and see if they pick it up. If not, got to http://www.pchell(com)/support/spyaxe.shtml which tells you what software you need to download and how to remove it. Good luck! Maureen

Which version of Windows do you have installed? XP? If so is it service pack 1 or service pack 2? I would suggest you go along to the Windows Update site to make sure you have all the patches you require for your operating system. Do you have any anti spyware programmes on your PC? If not, try downloading Spybot Search and Destroy and see if that shifts it. Cheers, Horatia

Esta download avg7 from grisoft free and run it to see if it can get shot of the virus. Do you have any anti virus program? If not save the avg7 and use that, it updates every day and scans your puter every day It doesnt sound like a virus to me though, is it just a program she was downloading for music or something? I just googled and there is a free removal tool for it. Apparently it is some sort of pop ups thing that can hi jack your homepage and change it to something else. Try this site: http://www*spywarebot*net/remove/

Thanks for the replies.....I'm still trying anything and everything ( including spybot ) I have Avg which did pick something up...but we made the mistake of following 'false instructions' from this bravesentry thing......although I did realise and stop it from completing....... I've done the updates. trouble is it's late and I can't think ! I might have to just turn of the computer and find out where I can take for help tomorrow...... Esta x

Esta, Glad to have helped. I just did my weekly scan of my PC with Spybot Search and Destroy and I noticed that it does have Brave Sentry on its list of nasties that it can detect and hopefully remove! You might be wise to check you have all your Windows Updates as Brave Sentry tends to get onto PCs that haven't been fully protected with all the Microsoft Windows Updates. Take care! Cheers, Horatia :-)
