Following the sad news about my great grandfather's likely demise (thanks again to all those who've been in touch): I've just been speaking to my father's cousin (also called Gwilym). He was at a family funeral recently for the last of Gwylim's surviving half sisters and remembered the family bible. When he asked about it he was told it was left under the bed for disposal as it was falling to pieces. He retrieved it and has just had it returned from getting it rebound. It has has the dates of birth of all my great grandfather's siblings and half siblings in it. He will be emailing me the details and I will send him copies of all the certs I have to keep with the bible. Make sure you speak to cousins in case they don't know you are interested in these things. |
