Hi, If it doesn't cost too many credits, could someone please see what they can find for a Henry McKenzie Ross Clyne born c 1860 Ardrossen, N. Ayreshire. He married in England in 1888 - I have him in England on 1871 but I can't be sure of him before then. Thank you. Dea

Hi Dea Just done a quick search for birth record for you. The only CLYNE in that area is a STEPHEN BLYTHE CLYNE born 1866. If it is of any help to you let me know and I will view it. Julie

Thank you very much for looking Julie - I don't believe there is any connection with the one you have found though. Did you find this on Scotlands people? - I have just this minute posted on a thread asking about Scotlands people site - I am wondering if it is worth me having a look on there but can't find the addy yet and don't really know what it covers. Many thanks again, Dea x

Hi Dea I can give you the web site address if you wish, but it depends on how much you want to find out. It costs a minimum of six pounds for 30 credits and that allows you to view and download certificates for 5 credits each. If you let me know how much you want to find out I have a few credits. Census 1941-1901, birth marriage death. Julie

Thank you for the offer Julie but please don't use your credits - I really don't think that is the correct Henry. I will do a bit more exploring first and see what I come up with and if need be I will register on the site now I have the address. Many thanks, Dea x

Hi Dea, Have you got Henry in 1881 census? I see the Stephen that Julie found on SP is listed in 1881 census, Gloucester England, Stephen Clyne age 4 born Ardrossan also on that census is a Henry Clyne age 25 occ commercial clerk, but he's born Bristol. There doesn't seem to be a Henry born Scotland in 1881 English census. Liz

Thanks Liz, So, Stephen may be related then. I have Henry on 1891 - born Scotland - RG12/3184 Also on 1901 - born Ardrossan, Ayreshire - RG13 3673 Can't tie him op on previous census yet Thanks, Dea x

Liz, I looked up Julie's Stephen who you mentioned and yes, there he is, with a Henry and what is VERY interesting is that Father John is a Journalist - Although on here Henry is a commercial Clerk - on 1891 and 1901 - he is a Journalist / Press Correspondent / Author. Need to follow up further. Thanks Liz + Julie, Dea x P.S. Can't find any births anywhere near Bristol for my Henry There IS a Bristol connection though as Henry married into a Bristol family. Xxx

Hi Dea, Not sure if this helps or not, but Stephen's mother was Caroline Ross, there is also another son listed in IGI for John Clyne and Caroline Ross. John Clyne born 1852 in Govan, Lanark Also a marriage. JOHN CLYNE Marriages: Spouse: CAROLINE ROSS Marriage: 30 APR 1851 Govan, Lanark, Scotland Caroline Ross also had a brother called Henry McKenzie Ross I found Caroline with her father and siblings on 1851 index. THANK-YOU Liz, I have to go out - 15 MINUTES AGO - and I haven't had my shower yet. I would be interested in the 1851 census - will have to get back to you tomorrow, BUT - Thank-you. Dea x
