I have just come across several pages of crossed through images on the 1841 census. The name at the top of the page is crossed out (it was the wrong village) as well as all the names! What does this mean? If it was all wrong, why didn't they just throw it away?

Well, if it got thrown away, there wouldn't be a true and accurate record of what actually happened. It shows that the enumerator got in a muddle when he entered his returns - surely that's important? jay

Hi Janet I was just wondering what happened to the actual pages which should have been there. I feel that I am missing something! Allie
