Just finished getting OH off to work and had plenty of caffeine intake Thats brilliant I am going to send off for the cert now. This is my grandmother's half sister, in the 1901 census they were living in Ystradfodwg, Ferndale which isn't far from Pontypridd so it is quite likely her. Thanks again for everything

Hi Nell Yes i have checked the GRO Index from 1882 - 1889 and I have only found Diana. I know Elizabeth died in 1894. I have been following your Napolean thread and have had a laugh at the mistakes in transcribing :-)) but mine were the same on both census and Mary married William Warwick and Jones in Pontardawe. In 1891 she was living around the corner from her parents. William warwick was from that area and was a farm labourer, he died in pontardawe so i can't imagine why they would be registered anywhere else. The only other Warwicks for that period were a Griffith their son who died and a Catherine not belonging to them. I'm stumped!

Have you gone through the individual GRO birth index pages checking also the year before and after the birthyear on the census? If you still can't find them, perhaps they were registered under a different surname - or incorrectly indexed, though can't think what else Warwick would be indexed, except perhaps Warrick. Or, they may have been born in a different registration district. nell

Then realised I couldn’t find a birth entry either. I don't know where else to look
