Hi, Does anyone know if there are missing Census pages 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, for the County of Cheshire ? I know my Great Granparents and three of their children came from the Nantwich area but I cannot find them, from 1881 there's no problem as they have moved to Lancashire. Just wondering if certain pages are missing and this could be the problem. Thanks Ellen.

Elizabeth Hopley wife, 54 yrs, Born about 1826 Staffordshire ?Charwoman. George Hopley ,Son, 22yrs,Born about 1859,Stapeley Cheshire, coal miner. William Hopley, Son, 20 yrs,Born about 1861, Stapeley Cheshire, coal miner. Elizabeth Hopley Daughter, 17 yrs, Born about 1864, Lathom Lancashire, Domestic. Charles Hopley Son, 14 yrs, Born about 1867, Lathom, Lancs, coal miner. Martha J Hopley Granddaughter 10 yrs, Born about 1871, lathom Lancs, Scholar. Thanks Elaine, OH ECK, Richard's Mother looks like she made a habit of having illegitimate children, I think she passed it on to my Grandfather, I'm glad my Dad isn't around to see this he'd have smoke coming out of his ears!!! Lol Ellen

Some of the censuses did have pages too damaged to be useful (or just lost). I'll nudge up the thread about missing 1861 pages, in case anyone else needs them. Christine
