Thanks to responce from my other post re local paper, I now have the contact e-mail. When I put out my plea to anyone who knew my grandmother, should I leave my home tel. number? I think I should just leave my e-mail but since the person who remembered her might not have access to comp.I am not sure this is a good idea. Stumped since I do not want to be phoned by nutters. What would you do? |

What about a mobile number instead, atleast you can switch them off if you get strange ones, and you can vet the calls with caller display. |

I recently put a letter in the Hastings and St. Leonards Observer, hoping to contact a relative of my grandfather, and I filled in my request on their website. I gave all my details (address, phone number, and email address) but as far as I'm aware they only published my email address. It was well worth doing as I am now in contact with my relative (I had an email from the person's sister-in-law on the night the letter was published). Kath. x |

Find out if they have a security number facility. This gives a number in print which, when a person dials it, will automatically go to your phone number. These last only a few weeks, but at least you don't have your number published. Failing that, a PO Box is only about £10. |
