Hi, I am so happpeeeeeee. On Monday afternoon I asked on here about Sheffield RO, wanted to try them out for a marriage cert - rather than the usual GRO. Sent off application, covering letter and cheque 3 o'clock Monday afternoon......Received a photocopy of the original (the long style certificate) in the post this morning in Norfolk. Now you have to admit....thats service, lol. Pen x

So that means you are converted then? Nice when you get the originl isn't it,complete with the signatures of the couple,witnesses etc. Glen

Well done, that was quick. I ordered one from Lincoln yesterday and was told that it might take 2 weeks! :-( I hope not, as I ordered one from the GRO on Monday and they gave me a despatch date of 21st, so the GRO could be quicker. Lynn

Yes, definatly converted now Glen. Although I must admit I asked about the local RO for Bethnal Green, which turned out to be Tower Hamlets. I ordered the others by telephone on Monday afternoon, just before posting the Sheffield one. I read on the thread about RO's that Tower Hamlets were typed and as slow as the GRO lol. So most probably did the right thing as the chap on the phone told me that they would be despatched in 5 days from the GRO. Special thanks to you again snowdrops for the web addy. Pen xx
