Why do family have to be so uncooperative?

I know how you feel. I can offer no advice though i am just in the process of ordering certificates. I spoke to my husbands grandma and had an arguement and told i am not allowed to look into a certain side of the tree as you can guess i am now really looking into the tree. Can you not order certificates like me? It is pretty hard but if i find a family member i ask them if they can tell me anything and sometimes you find a name here or there. Hope you get somewhere with this side of your tree. Jen |

But bear in mind that even if she did give you information, it would only be as reliable as her memory, which clearly isn't that reliable. |

I have so many questions I would love a certain elderly person in my husbands family to answer, as she's the only one who can remember her grandparents. I dont know this lady, so have asked those closest to her to try and glean some info. But no-one in the entire family could care less about their ancestry! The lady says 'my grandparents died before I was born', when I know from certs and census records they didnt! When she passes onto the next world, all the memories will be lost for ever. |
