I upgraded mine from the starter edition online and it only cost me about a tenner. Well worth it, loads more reports and everything. Sam x

Why dont you upgrade anyway, its not that expensive and you will have so many more functions you can use. Have a google for the best price at the moment.

The starter edition only has the basic functions available - and exporting to a gedcom file is not one of them I am afraid. You will need to update your FTM programme to the full version.

Hello everyone, i have been using family tree maker 2005 for the last few months and am ready to transfer my tree onto genes but when i try to export the file it says that the function is not available on starter edition, please upgrade now. Is there really no way i can load my tree onto this site without re-imputting all the info. Update: many thanks to all who replied, a huge thank you to Jim for all your help. I am now going to upgrade. Thanks again. Chris x
