Sorry I couldn't express my thanks yesterday. Just as I pressed send to add my reply I got locked out and couldn't log back in....I will need to add another question about this family when I can 'word' it correctly. You see the ethnicity of the Lay's seems to be an ongoing argument within my husband's family. Thanks again, Jeanne

Have you got the date of the first baptism wrong? You have said 1816, but the parents were born c. 1832 and c.1836. Kath. x

Can anyone help me find a marriage entry between: Jasper Robert Lay (abt1832) and Caroline Lucretia Shepherd (abt1836). All children were baptised at St Dunstan's in Stepney - the first one William James was on 22 Sep 1816. Census says that Jasper was born in St George's in the East. Caroline was born in France. Any help you can give is most appreciated. Rgds, Jeanne
