Tower Hamlets for Stepney and Bethnal Green, Shoreditch try this site www.towerhamlets.gov.uk You can email them they before you apply asking if they provide the certs you want. You can download there forms fill it in then send it off. They are quicker than the GRO and return all you money if they dont find the entry you want. I send to them all the time. Gwen |

If you find the record on freebmd, and click on the plae of reistration, it links back to addresses. If you send to the wrong office, they will pass it onto the correct one - so send a separate cheque for each certificate. At least that was my experience, but it was not in London. I have heard that as they get loads of requests, theya re not particularly helpful Hope ot goes well Anne |

Not all local offices will supply certificates for genealogy purposes. Offices can be found here http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/RegOffice/ Gwyn |

Hi, was thinking I would try ordering certs from the local RO's this time round. I have to order certs for Bethnal Green and Spitalfields and stepney. But how on earth do I find the RO to order them from? lol. I have been googling for the last 15 mins and just keep getting the 'dodgy' order a cert sites for £20.00 standard service, blah, blah, blah.....yeah right ! Any advice gratefully accepted Pen x |
