Hi I am new to this website and don't know if i'm posting in the right place but i really need help. I am looking for JOE WHARMBY born 1862 Mossley Lancs. So says his Marriage and birth cert and the1891 and 1901 census records. However there is no trace on the 1881 records. I have searched for Joe, Jo and Joseph with and without the Wharmby. Has anyone got any ideas please? I would appreciate any help / tips from any kind soul. Thanks Barbara

Hi thanks for your reply. I have a record from the 1901 census says he was 39 which would make the birth year 1862 which is correct as far as i know Regards Barbara

What was his fathers name on his marriage certificate and both his and his fathers occupations? And the wittnesses names might help to tell if it's the right one. Fiona.

Just Checked the occupation on the 1891 and he is a Minder, 1881 also says Minder.
