I have only just started researching my family and I am already confused....William Alfred Baldock, I have his Marriage Cert' married Elizabeth Mack in Shoreditch 1924, Age 24, his Father's name Frederick (deceased). But the only William Alfred Baldock birth that I can find is William Alfred Baldock, Wandsworth, 1897. He died in Hackney, which ties in with my limited information, do you think this is him? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trudi

Don't worry about age being wrong on marriage cert - it happens a lot!

Thanks Janice, This is why I was confused. Also, I didn't know my Grandfather (William) and my Dad always referred to him (in conversations) as Charlie????

It sounds good to me Trudi, particularly the occupation match. Oh dont worry about name changes, particularly among Londoners everyone seemed to have a nickname that was nothing to do with their real one! My name is Heather, half the time I was called Flo - my sister still writes to me as Flo and her new husband to be assumed it was my real name! My dad often called my husband Harry when his name is George. My son Peter Dad called Felix and my eldest boy Duncan was called Nobby! Go for it.
