Julie It could be but i don't have enough info yet to confirm. We know nothing about this side of my family, I live in the NEast and my Dad has had very little contact with the family since a small child. I will order the Brittle birth cert and see if I can work it out from that. Thanks for looking. Bren. |

Looking at 5 different images is not what I call 'trudging'. I once went through 142 index books at the Family Records Centre looking for a marriage and found it with 2 volumes to go! nell |

Dudley & Wolverhampton are in the same area, and i and e are often misread, so Brettle could be Brittle. Only getting the cert would tell you though! You could specify father's name as a check, but if its slightly different on the cert they may not send it. nell |

I'm looking for my Grandfathers birth record. The info I have to work on is from his m cert: Wolverhampton register office. John Brettle age 21 m 03/04/1926 to Sarah Ann Steadman age 23 Fathers name Stephen Brettle (canal boatman) I have trudged through all the B's listed on Ancestry for each qtr in 1905 and the first qtr of 1906. the closest I can find is a John Brittle born in Dudley 6c 101 JFM 1906 The family seemed to have live in the Bilston area after marriage from the info i have. Is this likely to be him?? Or am I having a blonde moment? Bren. (having a dizzy moment) |
