I came across some submitted records on family search.I checked them all using the site of the Cheshire Parish Register Project and the ones I found were all correct. The problem is that there were a couple I could not find.As the submitter was accurate with the other records, would it be safe for me to assume that the ones I can't find are accurate too?If not,how can I find them for myself? Um, no, not really - if they arent in the Parish records, then where has the submitter found them? Does it say? You only need ONE critical person to be wrong in your tree for the whole thing to go a ball of chalk. Who? When? Where? Can we help? OC

O.C. I just knew you were going to say that! Thomas Rimmer b.8/8/1731 to John and Mary Rimmer.Submitter says Mary is Mary Roberts who married John 21/9/1730.Can't find this marriage. Submitter also says Martha Bostock b. 18/7/1731 but I cannot find,so cannot believe parents are Thomas Bostock and Martha Jones. All the above are from the Wirral. Fran

I think the best bet would be to check the actual PRs themseleves.

The only extracted record I can see for Thos Rimmer is the one bap 28 Jun 1730 at Holy Trinity, Chester, father Gilbert, but I expect you have seen that one? (And he died young, so it cant be him!!!!) Problem is, you dont know where the submitter got his info from - marriage may well be right, but as there is no Church given, its impossible to check. I can only echo - you will have to search the PRs yourself - IGI havent transcribed everything by any means. OC

There is an extracted marriage for John Rimmer to Mary Norris at Formby in 1728 - no date, which suggests the PR isnt readable (although it is sometimes possible, if you are the desperate looker, I have found!). OC

Thank you everyone.O.C.I don't think it is the Formby one.Too far away.I wish I knew where the submitter got the information from.Perhaps the Cheshire Parish Register Project is not complete for the area I want.I am grateful for your responses. Fran
