I have 2 births one in 1910 and the other in 1913. I know when and where they were born as I have the certs but I just can't see them on freebmd.

The free BMD is only partially transcribed. You would need to check them on the complete images on Ancestry but remember to check the following quarter as well. Births did not have to be registered immediately so, for example, a birth which took place in March may not have been registered until the April/May/June quarter

John, FreeBMD isn't complete, especially after 1910. Check here to see the coverage: http://freebmd.rootsweb.*com/progressB.shtml Remove the * Rose

Hi John, I know when i have trouble finding peoples births they can sometimes not be on the quartet that they were actually born. Do you want to put there details on here and see if anyone can find it. Jen

Freebmd is a work in progress, it is by no means complete. It is being transcribed by teams of volunteers. Liz

Then it has not been transcribed yet on the freeBMD You need to look at complete images on Ancestry http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx remove brackets - they will be there somewhere !!!

Whoops, loads of replies all at once. So as I understand it freebmd isn't fully transcribed yet. My entries should therefore appear on freebmd at some time in the future. BUT Ancestry is fully up to date, so I should be able to find my records their ??? The 2 records I was looking for are: - Cecil Reinhardt - b16/10/1910 William Reinhardt - b25/05/1913 John

Thanks Elaine, They are both Leeds births. So they do definitely exist on Ancestry, that's good to know. John
