I have been searching on Ancestry for a 2xg grandfather who has a fairly common name, ie. William Moss. He was born abt 1869 in the Hackney/Poplar area of London. There are several William Moss`s, in that part of London around that date, how can I cross reference that this is 'my' William??? Kay |

This is how I do it. Make a list of all the William Moss you find. Then try to trace them back on the census and then forward on the census to a point where you know they are correct. Sometimes this doesnt work and you will have to buy a few certs, just to see a few people off the list. Hope this helps OC |
