hi, could anyone tell me if there are any records for soldiers serving in the boer war. i know there is the cwg and war commision for ww1 but wondered if there was anything similar for the boer war. love linda x

Hi Linda; I used Keving Asplin for research on my gggrandfather who was a chelsea pensioner. Kevin was absolutely brilliant! He emailed me two days after my request and said the stuff was in the mail. Since I am in Canada I had to wait with baited breath for a week for it all to show up. It sure was worth it though. He sent me all his military papers showing the campaigns my relly was in (including the fact he was courtmartialed and jailed for 56 day for being awol for one day at the age of 18!). I think it cost me about 12 pound. Can't remember. Anyway, it is well worth it to get all these papers. Good luck. Teresa in Calgary
