A draper sold fabrics, cottons, braids, trimmings etc and also goods made of fabric - sheets, towels, curtains etc Jay

I could be wrong but i think menswear shops were refered to as Drapers.

Just found an occupation on the 1901 census that 2 of the children aged 17 and 15 are what looks like drapers assistant? Dad and big bro are grooms and some of the neighbours are potters and is in that area but ive never heard of a draper Anyone know? Please and Thank you
